If you fancy doing some work as a temp, but are not sure where to start, then the best thing to do is to find a good recruitment agency, who will be able to match up the skills that you have, with the jobs that they have on offer. The recruitment agency should help you to choose an area that you want to work in and help you to overcome any nerves or uncertainties about temping. Remember that the agency needs temps or else it would go out of business, so they do want to keep you.

There are lots of different types of agency available. Some are located on high streets, others are internet based. Some specialise in say, catering temps, others are office or admin type specific, but some have a wide variety of roles available.

Before you approach a recruitment agency though, you really should have an up to date curriculum vitae prepared, so that the whole process of signing up with them can be as easy as possible. It is also a sign to the recruitment agency that you really are professional, literate and well organised, so make sure that you update your curriculum vitae before you start interaction with the agency.

The qualifications required for temping jobs vary. For example, a construction specialist, such as an architectural technologist, will require many more qualifications than if the role were for an office junior, where the main emphasis may be on willingness to work and a keen attitude. But no matter what qualifications you have, you will be able to find a temping job, so long as you display enthusiasm, a keen and flexible approach and are genuinely keen to work. So don’t be shy of approaching a recruitment agency, they may be able to transform your working life!

Temporary Job Agencies For Office Workers

Gone are the days when temping agencies were seen as being the small fry when it came to recruitment, with the larger, corporate agencies having the best vacancies and little temping agencies simply filling a gap in the market.  Now temporary job agencies for office positions are the major part of a £ multi-million industry in the UK: they are big business!

Temping agencies now help fill the gaps that happen, often at very short notice, when staff are sick, have to go off for unexpected periods or are on maternity/paternity leave.

That means that they have a really solid corner of the market and now that more and more companies are keen to ensure that they rationalise expenditure, they will take on temporary staff instead of recruiting permanent members of staff who then have all kinds of rights in terms of redundancy etc.  So temporary office workers can fill the gap and be cost effective.  If you are interested in temporary work, then this is good news from your point of view, since it means that there are more opportunities available than if you were looking for a permanent position.

Office workers can also use temporary positions to augment their CV, with the temping work offering the prime opportunity to try out different types of company and perhaps trying new areas of work, such as being a receptionist or working as PA/ Secretary.  Temping also boosts your CV because it shows that you are willing to settle in quickly and can adapt to different working environments: key skills that not everyone has and it is very difficult to establish at interview if people have these skills or just say that they have them.

With all these reasons for finding a temporary office job, it is hard to see any real reasons not to give temping a go and the best thing is: you may even enjoy it!

Temping For The Summer Holidays

In the ‘olden days’ students used to use their summer holidays for travelling, having fun and generally just being lazy. But those days have gone now and many students find that the only way they can afford to continue with their studies is to work during the holidays. But what do you do?

Well the best thing to do is to sign up with a recruitment agency and try to secure a good position. There are some jobs, for example in shops or bars/cafes that may be advertised in the local papers, but many office and secretarial positions are only sent to a recruitment agency, since they know that the agency will have people to do those jobs.

So if you go to an agency, you have so many more options than you would do if you just look in the local paper. It is a lot easier to get a reasonably well paid temping job with an agency than through the papers.

You can also find quite varied positions: so you could find work as a carer, in a hospital, in a nursing home, in an office, or vets and so on. Some agencies may have particularly good links with local employers and so they can attract the best jobs, which is another good reason for choosing them.

Finding work these days is hard for everyone and since unemployment is quite high, many people who want full time permanent employment will actually start looking at any job, even a temporary one. So beat off the competition and go to an agency: they will save you time, get you the most interesting jobs and if you keep a good relationship with them, you can get work again in the future.

So whilst all your friends are out doing hard manual labour or cleaning jobs, you can pick up some valuable work experience in an office or some other location that will actually make your CV stronger. How cool is that?

Finding a job is a daunting job. It needs your perseverance and determination to go on with the rigors of inching it out with other job candidates who are as hopeful as you are. You have to be prepared with all the necessary documents that will give you edge over other applicants. With the rate of employment in the country, most personnel are now hired to a temping process.

This method of acquiring additional workforce for the many different positions in the company needs the services of temporary job placement agencies. This temporary job placement method is now the trend, which is more popularly known as temping. Those who seek employment opportunities from the different temporary job placement companies are called temps when they are hired by the staffing agency and then assigned to the host employer. The host employer is the company that contracted the service of the staffing agency for their contingent pool of human resource.

In essence, it is the temporary job placement office that employs the temps. Some of these temping agencies provide the basic benefits while others dont. The provision of benefits vary is dependent on the length of the employment. Temps may render a service that will last for a day or two or even longer fro a week. These services include gardening, babysitting, and house cleaning among others. Other services may take more than a month. These job positions include clerical and administrative tasks.

Temporary job placement agencies are paid by the client companies to an agreed amount according to the type of service provided. Through this way, the companies are spared from getting inefficient employees and at the same time they are not obliged to hire them for full time positions and giving them work benefits as well. More and more companies have joined the bandwagon of employing temporary employees at the same time more temporary staffing agencies have been set up to address the need of increasing demand fro temps. Remarkably the temping industry is one of the most lucrative. In fact it has already produced a company that is now one of Fortune 500 companies.

Kelly Services is the company that is now making its way as one of the most bankable staffing agency in the U.S. today. It has a humongous number of employees that are spread all over the world assigned in big companies worldwide.

Getting temporary job placement from different staffing agencies can truly be a demanding and frustrating task, but once you are enlisted with any of them and if they find out that you are qualified for a temporary position, and then you can only expect a call from them.
